There is a number of well known tracks available in our city. Today I will guide you along the Abe-Jo Castle trail, a 3-4 hours walk from the Nishigaya Sports Complex to the Tokei-in Temple!
Take the Nishigaya-line bus from platform 9, at North Exit, Shizuoka JR Station. And then get off at the last bus stop, Nishigaya Sogo Undojo(24min. ¥340).
There is a sign showing the way to the Nishigaya Waste Disposal Center! Follow the arrow on the board.
This is the entrance of the Center. Keep going!
Go along the street towards the park!

This one shows the way to the Abe-Jo Castle.PLEASE turn left! I turned right, it was the wrong way!
After I took the wrong way, the road split again. I took the left fork!
There was a small shrine, named the Shichisha Jinja!

Then I turned back. I could see the steps! It must be the starting point for the ascent of the mountain! To tell the truth, this was also the wrong way!!!
Here are more steps, but don’t go this way! I got lost in this bamboo forest! Don’t tell it to my hubby, or he won’t let me go again!

I was rolling down like a stone, and finally found the steps!
I returned to the park, and started to walk along the left fork! I found a big manhole cover, a simple one!

About 600 years ago, Kano Sadanaga, a warlord used to live in the castle! The castle doesn’t exist anymore!
It is known for its spectacular view of Shizuoka City and Mt. Fuji, the perfect treat after a long walk!

Now shall we start walking again? I almost lost my way, again! Got to get a grip on myself!

It took me roughly an hour to get to the temple at the foot of the mountain!
