Being Japanese, I love Sake better than any other alcoholic drink. It is healthy and makes me feel happy anytime!
The other day, I saw a beautifully calligraphed flag raised on the basement floor of Matsuzakaya Department Store!
As I looked at it more closely, I found it was a Garyubai (http://www.garyubai.com) by Sanwa Brewery in Shimizu Ward, Shizuoka City, one of a great Sake in Shizuoka Prefecture!
According to the brochure, Garyu means a sleeping dragon that doesn’t have opportunity to show his ability to the public yet! Also it represents Zhuge Liang (http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zhuge_Liang), a Chinese strategist!
There is a plum tree that is said to have been planted by Tokugawa Ieyasu at Seikenji Temple, Shimizu Ward, Shizuoka city. It is called Garyubai, named after his personal history.
A salesperson was wearing an artistic Happi! So beautiful!
She offered me to taste Sake as much as I like! So I enjoyed four kinds… I liked them all!! When you get a chance, try and taste it! And please find your favorite!
Sometimes it’s so hard for me to say no-thank-you when a salesperson says this is the last one!! Then I purchased it at last!! I will open it during the Golden Week, a Japanese long holiday! Would you care to join me?
